May 31, 2007 - Volunteers - are needed to provide transportation for members and guests who cannot drive anymore. We all will some day face not being able to drive and get to Services which are a part of our lives. Please help our congregation members get part of their lives back. May 31, 2007 - Mariners - are invited to a picnic at the home of Dale and Carolyn Cook on Sunday, June 10, 2007. We will have washer games and horseshoes in the afternoon (3:00 pm or so) and plan to eat about 5 pm. Bring your game hat and root for your favorite players. Also, please bring a lawn chair and a dish to share. Hope to see you there!!

May 31, 2007 - Congrats - Seniors of the Year, Joyce and Jack Evans
Congratulations to Jack and Joyce Evans on being named "Seniors of the Year". If anyone deserves this award, it is these two members. They are such compassionate and caring people, and they have done CAPC proud. Congratulations again to a wonderful couple!!

May 31, 2007 - T.O.P.S. - Has your weight become a health issue? Obesity has become a national epidemic. Each Wednesday, right here at CAPC, a group called TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets at 9:30 am to support, encourage and give you weekly accountability on the road to a healthier YOU. TOPS is a 59 year old non-profit, non-commercial network of weight loss support groups. For more information, call 465-6531 or check the web at www.tops.org.

May 31, 2007 - "Over 55" - On June 20th, the "over 55" Group will go to Opera Theatre of St. Louis to see Gilbert & Sullivan's, "The Mikado". This is a very colorful Operetta, with lots of humor. The bus will leave CAPC at 11 am and we will have lunch on the beautifull grounds of Webster University. Once again, we will furish a sack lunch, and you can purchase a drink. Cost of the trip is $55 dollors.

May 29, 2007 - Handbell Concert & Ice Cream Social - Saturday June 2, The Upper Alton Baptist and College Avenue Presbyterian Churches will present an Ice Cream Social followed by the annual Spring Concert by the Upper Alton Christian Ringers Handbell Choir from the two Churches. The Event will be held at the Upper Alton Baptist Church 7726 College Avenue, Alton, IL. 62002, Map of 2726 College Ave Alton, IL 62002-4707, US, on Saturday June 2nd . The Ice Cream Social will be at 5:00 pm on the front lawn of the church with the concert starting at 7:00 pm in the church sanctuary. There will be no charge for either event, but donations will be received for the social and a free will offering will be taken for the concert with proceeds going to the bell choir and the worship departments of the two churches. The concert will include preschool and junior bell groups from Upper AltonBapist, organized and directed by Cindy Kirbach and Tammy Cash, and a junior handchime ensemble from College Avenue Presbyterian Church, directed by Lanita Sims. Featured Soloist will be Well-Known Alton native Ms. Rosalie Keys, a member of monroe Memorial Church of God in Christ. Ms Keys, soprano gospel artist, will enchant you with her renditions of "Steal Away" and "Just a Closer Walk with Thee", accompanied by the Bells, and will present solos with recorded accompaniments for her own portion of the program. Other bell selections will be arrangements of old familiar hymns. Closing the concert will be the arrangement of "amazing Grace" for handbells and violin, featuring Karen Ballard hargiss. The Handbell Choir is Directed by Irwin Ballard.

April 20, 2007 - Soup & Sandwich Luncheon - April 29th at 11:00 am following Worship Service the worship Committee will be having a Luncheon. This will be a good time to enjoy food and fellowship.

April 15, 2007 - Spring Fling - There will be an all church Dance April 21 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. this years theme is "Skool Daze", 50's/ 60's, just come dressed in whatever you wore to high school. Music by Special Request DJS - www.specialrequestdjs.com, Jay and Dave will be spinning your Cd's all night long.

April 14, 2007 - Flea Market - Dates to bring things for the flea market are May 14th - 17th Time: 8:30am - 2:00 pm, No shoes or popcorn cans Help is needed on all Days.

Lunch will be at the Bissell Mansion, the oldest home still remaining in St. Louis. After lunch, there will be a tour of St. Stanislaus Kostka Polish Church. Cost is $35, which includes lunch, donations and bus.

Cost is $50 and includes bus, guide, and freebies from six different stores. Please call the church office to reserve your spot now. March 11, 2007 - Vacation Bible School - SAY YES TO VBS! - It's nearly impossible to believe, but planning has begun for the 2007 Vacation Bible School. After our successful merger last year with the four Alton Presbyterian Churches, we're going to do it again. The dates will be July 29 - August 3. The Christian Nurture Committee welcomes all interested persons to attend the next planning meeting. At this meeting, the curriculum will be decided as well as the location. March 10, 2007 - BIG YELLOW BOX - Clean out your closets and send a youth member to camp! That's right! Maybe what you have isn't suitable for the flea market, or maybe you're just ready to get rid of it now and don't want to wait until May. Put your clothes, linens, towels, old underwear and socks, (anything that is cloth; wheether it is usable or not) into the hungry Yellow Christian Nuture Committee will be paid $.06 per pound for all donations and will use all proceeds to send youth from our congregation to Mound Ridge Camp. Thank you in advance for your donation from the gratful youth of CAPC.

March 7, 2007 - Mini Cantata - The combined choirs to perform.
Date: March 25h, The combined choirs will be performing a Mini Cantata. Music will be Alleluia about the Christ. They will be performing this over Palm Sunday, Good Friday and the 3rd part on Easter.

March 7, 2007 - Evangelism - to hold a Trivia night .
Date: March 17h, 8 person teams, $10.00 per person. Tables are selling fast so please get your teams in as soon as possible. Contact: Bobbie Vandelia or anyone on the Evangelism committee.

March 6, 2007 - Christian Nurture - to have fund raising luncheon.
Date March 11th - 11am to 1pm or until the food is gone.
